Riverside Group (Hamble Court)
Riverside English Churches Housing Group (ECHG) is Riverside group's specialist arm, providing sheltered and supported housing. Hamble Court is Riverside ECHG's Reading scheme - a hostel for 35 homeless men and women from the age of 16 upwards. Hamble Court's aim is to provide housing and support to people in the Reading area who have identified needs. To this end, the hostel receives nominations from the council (RBC) and then interviews these prospective clients before housing them in single-accommodation bedsit-rooms. During their time at Hamble Court, clients are allocated a staff member as their keyworker, who then works with the client to create an individual tailored support plan and help them access the further support which they require. The aim of Hamble Court is to allow these clients to resettle into unsupported or less-supported accommodation as appropriate to their needs, so that they can eventually live more enriched, independent lives.
