Convoy 2000

Convoy 2000 is a charity run by volunteers from the Metropolitan Police,  Essex Police and the London Probation Service. The annual convoy of vehicles takes humanitarian aid and building materials to locations currently in Romania where volunteers from the United Kingdom undertake projects to relieve poverty and ignorance. The projects completed are two IT skills centres,  a Mini Orphanage and a Hostel for street children,  a retail shop and Carpentry Shop to fund the running of a soup kitchen. Current projects are at three orphanages,  a School for the Deaf,  School for the Blind and at an isolated village School. Two hospitals and a home for the elderly.
